The project has interviewed several potential stakeholders for wind turbine life extension including wind turbine owners, big wind farm owners, grid operators, servicing companies and insurance companies. Based on the different needs of their businesses, the specific requirements to be met for life extension of wind turbines were listed. From this list of key needs, five major objectives have been identified, under which the different requirements can be categorized.
These 5 principal objectives for life extension capturing the voice of the customer now form a basis through which the project will assess the potential for life extension of different types of operational wind turbines in Denmark. A documentation of these objectives and their usage will soon be published.
